"From the College Website University College of Engineering Villupuram, a constituent college of Anna University Chennai has envisioned a wide range of improvement and development both in academics and administration since 2008. University College of Engineering Villupuram was inaugurated on 01-09-2008. The first year classes for the Engineering students in University College of Engineering Villupuram(UCEV), Villupuram were initiated on 8th September,2008. An area of 17.5 Acres of land has been identified at Kakuppam village, Villupuram which is adjacent to Villupuram - Pondicherry National Highway (NH 45A). A three-storied building with modern infrastructure has been build in the said area in addition to that seperate hostels have been constructed for boys and girls. UCEV is one of the Zonal centres of AUC. It is proposed to start Regional Research Centre at UCEV."
