"From the College Website Dr.B.R.Ambedkar Educational Trust was established in the year 1994 with the aim of promoting the quality of Technical Education in the state. Following the overwhelming success in the maiden effort of establishing RANIPPETTAI INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY with only diploma courses in Engineering, the trust established the RANIPPETTAI ENGINEERING COLLEGE in the year of 1999 with Bachelor Degree courses in Engineering. The trust with the motto of ""EXCELLENCE THROUGH HARD WORK” extends enough support and guidance for the cruising development of the Institutions to attain excellence in all spheres of engineering.
Ranippettai Engineering College was established in the year 1999 as a self-financing Institution and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi & Government of Tamilnadu, affiliated to the Anna University, Chennai. Ranippettai Engineering college is located in the Chennai – Bombay Trunk road adjacent to Chennasamudram Toll gate, about 100Kms from Chennai – 30Kms from Vellore – 37Kms from Katpadi railway junction."
