People in Chennai and elsewhere have discovered that the RMK group creates a rock solid foundation for young minds to build a career and face the world boldly and cheerfully. As a result of this the demand for seats in these institutions reached new heights and the management was pressurized into starting one more institution here. As the Lakshmikanthammal Trusts's main objective is to foster quality technical and higher education, research and training in rural areas in various branches of science and technology and simultaneously inculcate among the youth a sense of discipline and pride in their hard work so that they can be moulded into competent technocrats of the century, they decided to have another college of engineering in the vicinity. So was born the

The fledgling college has all the advantages of its mighty R.M.K brother college and the loving R.M.D sister institution. With the older sibling' help and with its own innate strength it is sure to fly high like a garuda and soar to new heights.
This new college is located at Puduvoyal village at a distance of about 33 km from Chennai on the Chennai-Vijayawada National Highway (NH 5) a part of Golden Quadrilateral of our Nation. It is easily reachable from Chennai by buses proceeding to Gummidipoondi/ Sulurpet/ Nellore / Nayudupet / Sri Kalahasthi / Thirupathi. The suburban trains plying between Chennai and Gummidipoondi will also take us to Kavaraipettai station and from there the college is just a km away.
We have a huge complex that houses class rooms, air conditioned seminar halls, Central library, Departmental libraries, Internet with 25Mbps connectivity, and so on. Besides this we have separate hostels for men and women and a well networked transport system with brand new buses to carry the students safely to the college and back. Most importantly to give vision and guidance, knowledge and power, strength and support to the thirsty thousands we have a brilliant team of teachers with missionary zeal who will move the children with drive and discipline up the glorious paths of success in life.
The Strength and uniqueness of the college stems from its dedicated and committed faculty. With an unparalleled and genuine concern for the students they provide great inspiration and motivation to the students. The College has well qualified, highly experienced and dedicated staff in all disciplines. There are about 108 faculty members, out of whom 12 are Doctorates. The staff-students ratio is 1:14.8. Guest lectures by eminent professors, scientists, experts from industries and educational administrators are organized frequently. The class strength is divided into 30 students per section for I year to enhance the effectiveness of the learning process.Faculty members are encouraged and sponsored for higher studies like M.E. & Ph.D. at Anna University and JNTU by the management.
