Nestled on the banks of the river Bhavani, BIT's campus provides the right environment for natural learning in harmony with nature, away from the odds of city life. The spacious and the earth hugging buildings punctuated with landscaped courtyards and pathways are designed to emphasize the business ethics and character of an excellent center for learning. The campus hosts well planned academic blocks, computer centers, lecture halls libraries, laboratories, conference halls, staff quarters, hostel and students' centres. The campus also comprises a co-operative store, a bank with ATM and a clinic to attend to the general health of the students and staff. Adequate transport facilities are provided in the campus. BIT has the feel of a friendly hamlet while offering all the benefits of a citadel of learning.

CAMPUS: BIT is an impressive campus situated in a serene surrounding at the foothills of the Nilgiris mountains encompassing a sprawling area of 180 acrea with a built-up of more than 17 lakh sq.ft. presenting an exemplary illustration of corporate contribution to society. BIT is a well-designed campus with up-to-date facilities. It is an ideal, conducive, educational retreat where one can fully focus on studies and research and attain academic goals.
The facilities comprise 1500 networked PCs. A 2 – km fiber optic cable has been laid to interlink department computer centres, hostels, staff quarters and guest house. All latest software are made available in all the departments. He open – access to 42 Mbps internet at every department is part of an extensive information network connecting the campus. Wi-Fi facility has been provided in the hostels.
Sun Microsystems has partnered with BIT and established a Sun Centre of Competency at the Institute premises with an objective to develop open-source tools for Education, Research and Industry and to create a talented pool of Engineers in Free and Open-Source Software.
The two-storeyed, air-conditioned and computerized library is well-stacked. 64000 Volumes, 400 National and International Journals, 5500 CD-ROMs, a Digital Library with 40 PCs and 900 e-journals, 115 NPTEL and 166 NITTTR video courses are part of the resources. BIT is an Institutional member of the British Council Library, Chennai, DELNET, New Delhi and INDEST Consortium, New Delhi.
BIT is equipped with latest infrastructure and imparting technical education and serving the needs of the National and International students. Research activity is one of the missions of the Institute. LCRL - BIT, established in 2004 and nested in the Electronics and Communication Engineering department, possess a state of art in the latest and challenging field of Liquid Crystals. This research laboratory is equipped with most sophisticated imported equipment enabling to carry out the research in the frontier areas of Liquid Crystals.
Agilent ADS (Advanced Design System) software has been installed with five user licenses to design RF systems. It is a high frequency designer and simulator. ADS is an Electromagnetic (EM) simulator, ADS Momentum has default Multi-threading and N log N solver technologies which enables complex EM simulations to run faster and to solve larger structures in lesser amount of RAM.
An open – access language laboratory equipped with audio interactive and multimedia enhanced learning packages, is available to hone communication skills in English, French, German, Japanese, and Hindi. All the I BE/BTech students learn Communicative English in the first semester. They are then divided into two categories based on their proficiency in English and they learn Advanced Communicative English/German/Japanese/ French/Hindi respectively in the second semester.
Comprehensive accommodation services are available to all the students who are looking for a home away from home. Gents Hostel – 2500 inmates, Ladies Hostel – 2200 inmates, Well furnished single, double and four occupancy rooms, Aesthetic Layout, Modern Kitchen, Spacious Dining Halls, Mini Cine Theatres, Indoor Courts for Shuttle & Table Tennis.
BIT has many clubs and societies in order to channelise students spare time for their overall physical, mental and spiritual development.
