Tamilnadu College of Engineering was sponsored by Tamilnadu Technical Education Foundation (Regd.) established in the year 1984. The Institution was founded by eminent philanthropists Late Lion T.N. Palanisamy B.A., MJF and Dr.P.V. Ravi Ph.D., who are pioneering educators having unmatched rich experience in the field of education with belief that the continuous perusal of knowledge is the sole path to success. The primary focus of the Institution is to expose the young minds to the world of technology, instilling in them confidence and fortitude to face new challenges enabling them to shine in their chosen fields. The College is recognized by the Government of Tamilnadu, approved by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi and affiliated to Anna University. The National Board of Accreditation (NBA), AICTE, New Delhi accredited the courses B.E. (Computer Science Engineering ), B.E. (Mechanical Engineering ), B.E(Civil Engineering) and B.E(Electronics and Communication Engineering) for 3 years.
The college is situated in picturesque surroundings, abutting NH 47 (Salem-Cochin) in Karumathampatti, 30km for the industrial city of Coimbatore, 20km from the textile center of Tirupur and 10km from the temple town of Avinashi. The locational advantage of the College are its vicinity to the industrial city, excellent weather round the year, safe and potable ground water, unpolluted air, a calm environment ideally suited for learning and easy reach by Air, Rail and Road. Located in the border area of Tamilnadu and Kerala and it is preferred by Southern state students of all strata of society, the College campus has transformed itself favorably to nature a multi-cultural, multi-layer community in perfect harmony."
